Forever Eggsploring (cute, right?) →
I’ve had a woefully scotch egg-less past couple days, and it’s doubtful I’ll have the opportunity to indulge my new obsession in the next couple days either. Fortunately, we can always live vicariously through the over-reported lives of our fellow bloggers.
Thanks to @davidjconstable for sharing this blog with me today.
£7.50 on two scotch eggs
Purchased at The Deli Downstairs, a wonderful trove of wholesome and homemade goods.
Worth every guilty middle class penny
So how do you make one of these things? →
h/t to @ms_g for uncovering this recipe by the apparently quite famous Heston Blumenthal
Another submission from Gregor:
“the scotch egg section in Partridges on the Kings Road - the ‘Black Watch’ scotch egg was a highlight - Scotch egg with black pudding instead of sausage.”
Submitted by my scotch egg muse (and actual Scotsman), @gregorpoynton. He received these delicious-looking examples of scotch egg haute cuisine on his birthday, a gift from the lovely and talented @ms_g.
Broadway Market in Dalston. I ate the chorizo egg and it was delicious — perfectly cooked with a runny yolk in the middle. I really wish I’d had the smoked haddock one, as well.
More to come!
